STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES
Two Offices, One Mission
At the BYU School of Medicine, we believe that student well-being, academic success, and spiritual formation are deeply connected. Student support services are provided by two offices: the Office of Student Experience and Well-Being (OSEW) and the Office of Student Progress (OSP). Together, they provide a continuum of care that supports students throughout medical school. OSEW focuses on the personal, social, spiritual, and community dimensions of medical school, while OSP focuses on academic development, career preparation, and progress toward graduation.
Within the framework of the five pillars illustrated above, OSEW and OSP create a student-centered “home” of integrated support, where students are cared for, guided, and strengthened throughout their journey to becoming Christ-centered physicians. Not sure which office you need? Start with either, and we will get you to the right place.
